| Library Bond Referendum Talking Points $52.5 million will provide financing to: I. Build a new Library branch in 1. Oakton 2. Burke Centre II. Renovate 4 branches built in the 1960's 1. Thomas Jefferson Library in Falls Church 2. Richard Byrd Library in Springfield 3. Dolley Madison Library in McLean 4. Martha Washington Library in Alexandria III. Renewal of other existing facilities and planning future projects This is the first Bond Referendum for our Library since 1989 (15 years ago). Fairfax County grew beyond one million residents making more than 11 million loans in over 5 million visits last year. All Fairfax County citizens should have equal access to our world class library system. Necessary expansion of our Library system would not happen using just operating funds - capital projects require citizens' commitment to excellence via bond referendums. Please help encourage Fairfax County voters to pass the Library bond overwhelmingly on November 2nd! |
