In addition to reinforcing the need for continued and increased public support, the mission of the Fairfax County Public Library Foundation, Inc. includes serving as a catalyst for attracting private funding from individuals, businesses, organizations and foundations to enhance library services.

Significantly less than 1¢ of each tax dollar is used for Fairfax County Public Library. The Library Foundation raises private donations to support the following areas of need to enhance the Fairfax County Public Library programs and services beyond limited tax-based provisions.
