Ellen Crosby is the author of The Merlot Murders, set in a fictional winery in northern Virginia where she now lives. The second book in the series, The Chardonnay Charade, is scheduled for release in August 2007, and two more books are planned for the series.

Crosby is a former freelance reporter for The Washington Post and former Moscow correspondent for ABC News. Her articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the Christian Science Monitor, as well as local northern Virginia newspapers.

She has a B.A. in political science from Catholic University and a M.A. in international relations from The John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. She has lived in Moscow, London and Geneva, Switzerland.

Crosby is a member of the Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and the Northern American branch of the International Association of Crime Writers. She is the MWA liaison to Library of Congress' Reading Promotion Partners Program, sponsored by the Center for the Book.
