The Edwin S. Clay, III Scholarship
As a special recognition of Edwin 'Sam' Clay's twenty-five years of exceptional service and dedication to Fairfax County Public Library, a scholarship has been named in his honor. Also deemed as the Virginia Public Library Director's Association's "Outstanding Library Director of the Year", he leads our library system that has been named among the "Top Library Systems in the Nation." This special Academic Scholarship of the Friends Scholarship Fund is awarded annually.

Jane J. Kim, Information Assistant at the George Mason Regional Library to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language class
Lydia Patrick, Coordinator of the Library Internet Services Department to attend the Web 2.0 EXPO Conference
Elizabeth Stromme, Assistant Branch Manager at the John Marshall Library to attend the Public Library Association's National Conference
Additionally, 31 individuals were awarded partial funding toward attendance at the Bureau of Education & Research's What's New in Children's Literature conference.
