Jabari Asim
Jabari Asim was interviewed for BookCast by Fairfax County Public Library Director Sam Clay.
Asim is editor-in-chief of The Crisis Magazine, published by the NAACP. He is a syndicated columnist and former deputy editor for the Washington Post’s Book World. His work has appeared in “Essence,” “Salon” and the “L.A. Times.”
His newest book, The N Word is a 400-year history of the word. A playwright and poet, Asim has also written children’s books such as Daddy Goes to Work and a young adult book, The Road to Freedom: The Story of the Reconstruction.
