May 8th Book Festival Features Notable Authors, Celebrates Library Foundation's 10th Anniversary
Fairfax Library Foundation will celebrate its 10th anniversary by hosting The Capital Book Festival at the Fairfax County Government Center on Saturday, May 8, 2004 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public; for more information call 703-467-3000.
The Capital Book Festival: A Celebration of Notable Authors will feature celebrity author presentations, writers' workshops, autographed book sales and special children's activities. Authors confirmed as of this date include:
- David Baldacci, best-selling author of Absolute Power and Split Second.
- Peter and Cheryl Barnes, authors and illustrators of Marshall, the Courthouse Mouse.
- Ric Edelman, radio talk show host and author of The Truth About Money.
- Stanley Greenberg, political pollster and author of The Two Americas.
- Alan Cheuse, Ph.D., NPR book commentator and author of Fall Out of Heaven.
- Richard Holm, former CIA officer and author of The American Agent.
- Laura Ingraham, nationally-syndicated radio talk show host and author of Shut Up & Sing.
- Alma Powell, author of America's Promise and My Little Wagon.
- Diane and John Rehm, authors of Finding My Voice and Toward Commitment.
- Larry Sabato, political analyst and author of Dirty Little Secrets and Dangerous Democracy?
- Mary Foley, author of Bodacious! Career: Outrageous Success for Working Women.

"Maintaining the best public library system in the nation will take the continued support of our generous community of avid readers," says the Chairman of the Library Foundation, Patrick Dexter. "100 percent of the funds we raise through this book festival will help support Fairfax County Public Library materials and programs thanks to the event underwriters, including A.J. Dwoskin & Associates, ExxonMobil, Guest Services, Inc., Information Management Consultants Inc. (IMC) and WEST*GROUP."
