Welcome to the Fairfax Library Foundation

Do you recall your first visit to the library? Most of us have fond memories of the day we received our very own library card. And what about the fantastic “journeys” you took as you delved into the pages of books you checked out from your local branch. Your library card was all you needed—your ticket to explore endless avenues of discovery!

The Fairfax Library Foundation exists solely to enhance the programs, services, and collections of the Fairfax County Public Library. Gifts to the Foundation supplement public funding to help the library expand its reach to children and adults in every corner of our community.

In the words of Albert Einstein, “The only thing that you absolutely have to know is the location of the library.”

The Fairfax Library Foundation believes that the library is a cornerstone of an educated, civilized society, and an essential resource for all. We hope you enjoy exploring our site and learning more about what we do—and ways that you can help!
