Jay Parker.J.A. (Jay) Parker

A member of the CDSI Advisory Board, J.A. (Jay) Parker brings a global perspective from his career as an international consultant. As President of Jay Parker & Associates, an international consulting firm, Mr. Parker has traveled extensively throughout the world including the former Soviet Union, Europe, Africa, Asia, Central and South America, and has held in-depth discussions with many high-level government leaders.

Mr. Parker is president of The Lincoln Institute for Research and Education, Inc., a non- profit, independent, non-partisan public-policy organization in Washington, D.C. He is editor of its publication, Lincoln Review Letter. Mr. Parker is also president of The Abraham Lincoln Foundation for Public Policy Research.

During the Reagan administration, Mr. Parker served as a panel member of the White House Regional Fellowships Selection Panel and as chairman of the Transition Team at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He also served as an unpaid consultant to several federal departments and agencies, including The Departments of Defense, State and Health and Human Services.

Long active in the civic, professional and cultural life of the nation's capital, Mr. Parker serves as Chairman of The Lighthouse Inc., Washington, D.C.; past advisory board chairman of The Salvation Army of Washington, D.C.; Chairman of the Advisory Board, Honors Program, James Madison University; co-chairman of the American African Affairs Association; member of the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the International Club of Washington, D.C., and The University Club of Washington, D.C. and Chairman District of Columbia Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. Mr. Parker is also a member of the Board of Visitors of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and The Salvation Army's College for Officer Training in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mr. Parker, a past board member of Computer Data Systems Inc., is a former life insurance salesman and radio talk show host. He has spoken before numerous civic, business, social and government organizations and has been a guest on many radio and television programs throughout the world.

Mr. Parker was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1936 and graduated from the Philadelphia public schools. He and his wife, Dolores, reside in Great Falls, Virginia. The Parker family's daughters are W. Yvette, 42, a business consultant, and Ashley DeAnne, 32, a human resource professional. Both live in Northern Virginia.
